Tools to Change the World

Press Releases
News releases – also known as press releases – are foundational to defining your cause and relevance. All the releases we write contain an element of news or enlightenment. Often, these documents serve as a backdrop for a related event, such as a public hearing, a news conference, or another news story. We always include contact information and a boilerplate description of organizations involved in your release. We try to keep press releases to a single page. And we always get your sign-off before distribution. Read our 10 Thor-inspired tips for an effective press release here.
Websites
Websites comprehensively define your cause and mission. It’s where your news releases, mission statement and any public information relevant to your organization need to live. A website is perhaps even more important than a brick-and-mortar location, because it’s available and visible worldwide, 24/7. Just as important as having a website is keeping it updated and tightly edited.

Targeted
Pitching & Messaging
When was the last time you watched the 6 o'clock news? When was the last time you logged into Facebook? The answer to that question explains the need to target content directly at key influencers and affected audiences. Dave Moore media's data analytics and content creation skills can literally reach people where they live.
Substack/LinkedIn
Newsletters &
Columns
When Print Journalism was King, people opened newspapers every day looking for names like "Royko," "Buchwald," and "Dave Barry." They were looking for a bit of sunlight to complement the overwise gray content of daily journalism. Now, people subscribe to Substack, LinkedIn and other outlets that offer insights from their preferred authors/thought leaders. Substack estimates it has 3 million paid subscribers, up from 1 million in 2021. Visit Dave Moore's Substack page here.

Writing and Editing
Despite the explosion of Tic Tok, podcasts and YouTube, the written word remains foundational for transforming our world. And no, Artificial Intelligence is NOT the answer for your content needs. Dave Moore Media writes original content that clearly states the urgency of your cause. We can punch up existing content (even if it is AI-generated) and give fresh eyes to what might seem boring, overwrought, or stale.
Our work includes revamping business plans and proofreading grant applications for grammar and spelling. With 20 years of experience in journalism and 10 years of work in marketing and public relations, our firm infuses written energy into your fight. Our default writing style guide is "The Associated Press Stylebook" and our grammar guide is "Rules for Writers" by Diana Hacker. We eradicate ambiguity with alacrity (in Track Changes Mode).
Ghost Writing and Guest Columns
Our content has appeared in the Houston Chronicle, Yahoo! News, the Dallas Business Journal, the Dallas Morning News, and other outlets. The process usually starts with a conversation with a client who has something they need to put into words. It could be connected to a recent or upcoming news event, something that might have been overlooked, or just something they need to say. We’ll write a summary pitch to a publication and if they take it, we’ll complete it and submit it.

Data Analytics
Data helps lend perspective to your cause and can even help make your case more compelling. In one case, we were able to use publicly available data to identify a shortage in mental health support to a major metropolitan region. That finding aided the region in securing funding toward a new facility. Data analytics aren’t always the answer to your communications needs, but it’s nice to have that option. Our decades of experience in data analytics sets our firm apart from many other PR and marketing groups.
Social Media Content
We’re able to record videos, write social media posts and moderate interactions. Pursuing a social media plan meets the consumers of information where they are. When was the last time you watched the 6 O’clock News? We’re also able to edit and update WordPress and Wix blogs and websites.

Media Training
We host mock interviews that allow you to field reporter-style questions, which often don’t follow a consistent direction or ideas. Often, the training is captured on video, so you can identify areas of improvement. For a full description of what media training involves, visit our "How to Talk to a Reporter" blog entry.
